Frequently Asked Questions
What type of tutoring can you offer?
Due to Covid-19 lockdown I am currently offering 1:1 tutoring online, however group sessions and tutoring at the Study Studio will be available in the future.
What is needed for tutoring?
In person: Nothing is needed, all materials and equipment will be provided.
Online: Students will need a webcam and microphone, most laptops come with these built in. Students will be provided with a Google login to access Google Classroom. They will also need to download Google Meets in order to join a meeting/video chat.
How does tutoring work?
In person: Prior to the first session I will assess the individual needs of the student and propose a plan to tackle problem topics and exam techniques. We will begin each session by going over the course content and then tackling past paper questions. Students will be provided with access to Google Classroom and a whole host of resources to support their learning.
Online: I will video call students via Google Meets, which allows me to share my computer screen and resources with them. The session will then take place much like a session in person. We will begin each session by going over the course content and then tackling past paper questions. Students will be provided with access to Google Classroom and a whole host of resources to support their learning.
Which subjects do you cover?
I'm currently offering G.C.S.E science (covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Key Stage 3 (KS3) Science and Maths and Key Stage 2 (KS2) Science and Maths.
How do I set up Google Meet?
Prior to each session, students will be emailed an invitation to join a meeting. The first time they are invited to join a meeting, it will ask them to download Google Meets. Once joined the video chat will immediately start.
How should fees be paid?
Tutoring fees must be paid 4 weekly in advance. This can be done in cash or via bank transfer or PayPal. See terms and conditions for further information.
Fees for Science Kids workshops can be paid on the day, although your child must be booked in for a session.

What my customers think
Mrs Leanne Davis
We had Lisa as our daughter’s maths tutor in preparation for her GCSE exams. At the time she was really struggling. After a few months of sessions with Lisa she actually started enjoying maths again and it showed in her exam results, which had risen two grades since her mocks. Thank you and I would highly recommend your friendly, organised and professional service”
